Background of the Study
Workplace stress has become an increasingly significant concern for organizations worldwide, as it negatively impacts employee well-being and productivity. In the telecommunications sector, where competition is fierce and customer expectations are high, companies like Airtel Nigeria must ensure that their employees are motivated, focused, and able to perform optimally. However, workplace stress can detract from these goals, leading to burnout, reduced productivity, and higher turnover rates.
Airtel Nigeria, one of the leading telecommunications companies in the country, operates in a high-pressure environment where employees are often required to meet tight deadlines and manage demanding customer service situations. Stress in the workplace can stem from various sources, including workload, lack of support, organizational culture, and job insecurity. This study aims to explore the relationship between workplace stress and employee productivity at Airtel Nigeria in Nasarawa State, with a focus on understanding the causes and consequences of stress within the company and its impact on employee performance.
The study will provide valuable insights into how Airtel can mitigate workplace stress, improve employee well-being, and enhance productivity through the adoption of stress management strategies and policies that support employee health and satisfaction.
